Lean Academy
What does it involve?
The Lean Academy is a training program open to all CAREL group employees. Established in 2020, this internal training course aims to develop people’s growth and leadership skills, in harmony with the lean principle of respect for people (see Why Lean?).
The Lean Academy will be the reference framework for all aspects relating to continuous improvement, project management and business adaptability. It is consequently be a concentrate of principles, techniques and approaches that will be constantly refined and adapted over time to best meet the company’s needs. However, the Academy is not only a framework, but rather an actual development and career path for employees.
The purpose of the Lean Academy is to accelerate the growth of the company and the individual, generating a set of shared values and a common language across the entire organisation to steer all innovation and improvement initiatives in the direction defined by the corporate strategy, providing structure, rhythm and efficacy.
The belts and training contents
The contents of the Lean Academy are divided into four levels, called belts, set out along a path comprising a sequence of steps that follow the classic structure of Lean SixSigma courses. The topics, however, are only partly those typically associated with lean: they are broad-ranging issues covering aspects that are currently essential for an organisation, such as Business Model Generation, Project Management, KATA, Structured PDCA or DMAIC.
WHITE: general overview of lean principles and basic techniques, intended for all CAREL personnel, both white and blue collar. Available in self-paced e-learning mode, it is designed to be a fundamental step for new employees at the company.
YELLOW: start exploring the world of structured PDCA and project management tools. This is open to everyone, but is recommended above all for those who take part in projects as team members and Project Owners, ma consigliato soprattutto a chi prende parte a progetti come membro di un team e ai Project Owner.
GREEN: further development of the topics introduced in the previous belt, with the addition of statistical tools and more advanced analysis, as well as project and team management; consequently it is intended for Project Leaders and those who carry out structured analyses.
BLACK: the destination of the journey of excellence in Project Management, including soft issues such as coaching and change management, aimed above all at those who work on improvement full time.
